| These photographs were taken by me in October, 1996. They were shot from Incukalns, just east of Riga, to Vidzeme, the central highland lake area. My oldest brother Valters, now living in Riga, took me on a this wonderful trip through Vidzeme when the birches and Aspens were at the peak of their color. We were accompanied by noted Latvian Literary Historian Livija Volkova. She has a summer house near Kakisu lake, and told us many wonderful stories of literary notables from the area. |
