About The Show

Faces

The inspiration for this show came to me one day about eight months ago, thinking about capturing the different and sometimes humourous expressions people make.

As time neared for getting this show together, I realized that while I still wanted to use faces as my main subject matter, maybe more abstract close-up details would be interesting. I had done a very large semi-abstract collaged photographic portrait of a woman called "Tiffany" 16 years ago, composed of 5 or 6 different ladies.

As I started photographing, I realized that abstracting facial details was not quite what I wanted either. And I didn't want just "weird" expressions. So I let my subjects, all Lincoln artists, do what ever "fun" things they would like.

The images I selected just seemed to feel right to me. I want to thank all those who participated, and I hope I can still call them my "friends".
